The BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow will be broadcast from Rugeley Power Station on Tuesday 12th March; where part of the 139-hectare site is currently being made available to Staffordshire Police for specialist dog unit and Tactical Support Team (TST) training. The show broadcasts from 9:15am on BBC1.
The large, secure facility has been brought into temporary use to carry out essential police training – before planning is finalised for the site’s long term redevelopment.
The show will feature live footage of police training on-site. In addition, pre-recorded footage will show police operations carried out elsewhere in the county.
The collaboration with Staffordshire Police follows the announcement that ENGIE will retain ownership and a long-term interest at the site – acting as master developer to transform the former coal-fired power station into a new, sustainable community.
