Residents near Rugeley Power Station had recently been informed of a scheduled use of explosives at the site to demolish a section of metal ductwork, due to take place at the end of April.
We inform local residents that this scheduled demolition will now be postponed due to a bird’s nest on the structure. We are working closely with and on the advice of our ecologist to establish a new date of demolition once the animals have naturally moved on which is expected in the coming weeks.
The ductwork is separate to, and is not expected to impact demolition of the four cooling towers which are scheduled for controlled collapse on 6th June.
